Saturday evening we had our own dining room, which was beautifully arranged.
After we had eaten our wonderful dinner, it was time to judge the mask competition for a winner.
The participants waited anxiously whilst the room voted.(well most of them)
The happy Winner was Alice with the green goddess .
The winner of the Robin Hood outfit went to Marilyn Hotchkiss
And the runner up prize went to Janet Marsh who was a very deserved runner up, considering that she is very new to sewing, well done Carol.
The high light of the nigh was presenting Kendal with her award from all of us for her life time of collecting Sasha dolls, The Brood.
A very well deserved award to an amazing lady
Janet was also given a big bunch of flowers as a thank you from all of us
This is a photo of myself and my Grand Daughter who thoroughly enjoyed the whole weekend with her Sasha doll “Tess”
As we all know that before any raffle can start we need to fold the tickets and this year it was quite a mammoth task as we ran out of raffle tickets and had to buy some more.
This years raffle had a little twist in it that meant there was a main prize for the first and last raffle ticket which kept everyone on their toes until the very end.
Liss won the first prize which was a lovely Gregor donated by Gayle and Rosie Shortell, Rosie made him a lovely outfit and he came with his truck and backpack.
The final prize was won by Jonny and it was a lovely blonde gingham repaint by Janet.
Doll mums daughter won a baby donated by Petrana
Shelly Cuff won a brunette Sasha donated by Ginger
Anette won an early gotz that was donated by a generous anonymous person
There were many great raffle prizes and the weekend raised a total of over £1500 for The Save The Children charity.
I would like to personally thank
and everyone else for your very kind and generous donations as we could not have done it without you.
The display had been moved into the hall so that all of the Robin hood’s and many merry men and women could gather together.
In the evening after everyone had arrived we all went to dinner, unfortunately this is the only photo I was able to take that evening.
the next day was Saturday and it got off to a great start, first we all had breakfast and then it was off to do some crafting.
Everyone was waiting in anticipation for the work shops to start, but before that Janet asked us all to line up one by one to receive our goody bags and of course we did.
Once we were through the door Janet and Tricia gave us our goody bags
the crafts this year were….
A Sasha sized play mat by Judith of Dolly Doodles
Felt shoes and boots for Sasha by Emma Flood
Marionette puppets by Dollmum
Embellishing crocheted bags by Jane Woodward
Sasha sized masks by Theresa O’Neill
After the crafting was over we cleared the tables for lunch which was very tasty
Hey, Pierrot shouted “are you nearly packed yet”,” not yet “,I responded there are still a few things to pack.
My hubby had made a bet that I would not get everything in the car and I was determined to prove him wrong.
Pierrot was trying his hardest to capture my attention as he was so excited not only was he coming to the Sasha celebration weekend, but he was then travelling with his brothers and sisters to America to be part of The Sasha festival in New York. So after I assured him that everything was in hand he sat very quietly with a smile on his lips.
Then we were off at last.
We arrived at Eastwood Hall in the blistering sunshine and unpacked, later that evening, before turning in for the night, I managed to set up the Robin Hood display in the lobby ready for our guests to arrive the nest day.
SASHA CELEBRATION WEEKEND UPDATE
As you can see Maid Marion, Friar Tuck and Robin Hood are taking a well earned break from organising the Sasha Celebration Weekend. Maid Marion has been very busy preparing a meal for the boys and Robin has been giving the not so Mighty/Major Oak tree a trim.
Well everyone there is not long to go now and I hope you are all looking forward to meeting up with friends old and new and having a Sashatastic time.
Not forgetting of course that we are raising money for charity and our cause this year is Save The Children.
As we are now getting very close to the Sasha celebration weekend, if you have any raffle prizes that you are not bringing with you can you please send them to me.
Thank you to all those that I have received so far and below are some photos of some more raffle prizes that I have recently received.
You will see more raffle prizes at the Sasha Celebration Weekend which are being kept as a surprize. I can feel the excitement mounting.
On behalf of Janet, Tricia and Myself we welcome you to the 2016 Sasha Celebration Weekend.
Let the fun begin x
