As we all know that before any raffle can start we need to fold the tickets and this year it was quite a mammoth task as we ran out of raffle tickets and had to buy some more.

This years raffle had a little twist in it that meant there was a main prize for the first and last raffle ticket which kept everyone on their toes until the very end.

Liss won the first prize which was a lovely Gregor donated by Gayle and Rosie Shortell, Rosie made him a lovely outfit and he came with his truck and backpack.

The final prize was won by Jonny and it was a lovely blonde gingham repaint by Janet.

Doll mums daughter won a baby donated by Petrana

Shelly Cuff won a brunette Sasha donated by Ginger

Anette won an early gotz that was donated by a generous anonymous person

There were many great raffle prizes and the weekend raised a total of over £1500 for The Save The Children charity.

I would like to personally thank

Jackie Kraemer

Brenda Walton

Ginger Mullins

Linda Simpson

Dawn Law

Rosie Bloom

Sarah Williams

Brenda Myers

and everyone else for your very kind and generous donations as we could not have done it without you.

the next day was Saturday and it got off to a great start, first we all had breakfast and then it was off to do some crafting.

Hey, Pierrot shouted “are you nearly packed yet”,” not yet “,I responded there are still a few things to pack.

My hubby had made a bet that I would not get everything in the car and I was determined to prove him wrong.

IMG_1004

Pierrot was trying his hardest to capture my attention as he was so excited not only was he coming  to the Sasha celebration weekend, but he was then travelling with his brothers and sisters to America to be part of The Sasha festival in New York. So after I assured him that everything was in hand he sat very quietly with  a smile on his lips.

IMG_1005

Then we were off at last.

We arrived at Eastwood Hall in the blistering sunshine and unpacked, later that evening, before turning in for the night, I managed to set up the Robin Hood display in the lobby ready for our guests to arrive the nest day.

Hi everyone this it to let you know that The Sasha Celebration Weekend is now full. Janet Tricia and I are looking forward to meeting old friends and new for a sashatastic time.

Now as you already know the craft that I will be demonstrating at the Sasha Celebration weekend is making and decorating masks for your Sasha, Gregor or baby doll.

I have added a few photos below of the sort of thing you can do, I have many more embellishments this is just to give you a guide. The mask with the green feathers was made by my 3 year old grandson so this is not difficult at all and should leave you plenty of time to enjoy some of the other crafts being held on the day.

I am making the mask bases and bringing them with me so if you have a preference to which colour or doll you want to make the mask for please let me know, otherwise I will just bring a selection with me.

There will be a prize for the best mask made and this will be announced at dinner so you might want to take into consideration the outfit your doll will be wearing and whether you want your mask in a matching colour.

SASHA CELERBRATION WEEKEND UPDATE.

_61178265_1[1]

Hello all and welcome to 2016. I hope you are all looking forward to The Sasha Celebration in May.

As we all know this event is a time to all catch up and enjoy ourselves and 1 of our main events is the raffle. so please donate a raffle prize which can be anything Sasha related. All money raised will go to a children’s charity so it is for a very good cause. If you have a raffle prize that you would like to donate then please contact myself, Janet or Tricia.

Tricia will be posting the official Sasha Celebration Weekend  Newsletter soon, so  this is just an update.

Now then, as you may or may not know , The Sasha Celebration Weekend is held in Nottingham not far from Sherwood Forest the home of Robin Hood.

So our theme this year is Robin Hood and there will be a prize for the best Robin Hood outfit.

A few months ago I purchased a Robin Hood Costume pattern which even includes a section on how to make arrows. I have been in touch with the designer of the Robin Hood pattern and she has very kindly agreed to allow me to copy the pattern for any of the Sasha Celebration attendees that would like to use it to make their costume. So Many thanks to Judi of Judi designs.

(Above a photo of Judi’s sewing pattern for a Robin Hood Costume.)

There will be craft tables and I can tell you about two of them.

One of the craft tables will be run by myself and it will involve decorating masks for your Sasha Gregor, Button nose, Toddler and or Baby. As in the photo below you can see that you can use different colours and embellishments to make it your unique design. to get some idea of how many and what type of Sasha doll you would like to make a mask for and any preference as to colour just drop me a line. Your dolls will be wearing their masks to dinner in the evening and their will be a prize for the best mask.

IMG_1862

Another of the craft tables will be run by Doll Mum and this year she will be showing us how to make a Sasha sized Marionette  puppet. Doll Mum has asked me to find out a rough idea how many people would like to have a go at making a puppet and she crafts all the parts herself.

Well, that’s the end of my update for now and you will be receiving  the official Newsletter soon.

PLEASE DON’T FORGET TO DONATE YOUR RAFFLE PRIZES, THE MORE TICKETS WE SELL THE MORE MONEY WE RAISE FOR CHARITY !!!

It was the night before Christmas and nothing was stirring not even a mouse.

Are you kidding it was mayhem in the Sasha house, everyone was so excited about Father Christmas coming, that poor Polly was having trouble trying to keep everyone calm, as she read, The Night Before Christmas.

polly close up.jpg

book 1.jpg

polly reading 10.jpg

Now says Polly “listen to this story and then it is off to bed otherwise Father Christmas will not visit you”

polly reading 11.jpg

Polly began to read to the others, but a very excited Dot butted in and started chattering about what Father Christmas was going to bring her.

polly reading 9.jpg

Right that’s it, says an exasperated Polly, “Christmas is not about Father Christmas bringing you presents. It is a special day to celebrate the birth of baby Jesus.”

Please tell us says Marina

marina close up.jpg

oh, yes please says Dot “I will be good and  listen”

Marina and Dot close up.jpg

Gitta

Ruth and Bam Bam

ruth close up.jpg

bambam close up.jpg

settled down comfortably   and listened  as  Polly told them, the story of baby Jesus.

Once  a long long time ago, some shepherd’s saw a bright star shining in the sky.

star this one.jpg

The shepherd’s decide to follow the star

sheperd and sheep.jpg

sheperd and sheep2.jpg

Meanwhile in a little town called Nazareth, a lady called Mary and her husband called Joseph were travelling by donkey trying to find somewhere to stay for the night.

mary and donkey this one.jpg

Every time they came to an Inn, it was full and Mary had been told that she was going to have a baby, who would be called Jesus and he would be the son of God, so they really needed somewhere to stay.

They came to another Inn and Joseph spoke to the Inn keeper

joeseph and the inn keper.jpg

The Inn keeper had no room at the Inn, but he said that Mary and Joseph could stay in the barn with the animals

And it was there in that barn the little baby Jesus was born and Mary laid him in a manger for a bed.

mary and babt jesus this one.2jpg.jpg

The shepherd’s that had been following the star come to see the baby Jesus and so do the three wise men baring gifts of gold frankincense and Mir.

the wise men.jpg

so you see Christmas is about celebrating the birth of baby Jesus, although it is also nice to receive Christmas presents from Father Christmas if you have been a good boy or girl.

so says Polly off you go to bed or Father Christmas will not come.

polly reading 11.jpg

After everyone had gone to bed, Polly had a look around the room to make sure everything was in its place.

IMG_0179.JPG

Now in the bedroom Dot and Bam Bam were trying hard to go to sleep.

Ok, night night Dot x

Just after Midnight presents start to appear in the bedroom and it looks like Father Christmas is delivering Dot and BamBam’s presents.

First Father Christmas checks they are asleep!

Ah , yes fast asleep, so time for Father Christmas to set to work.

Father Christmas is a little short this year so make good use of the parcels being delivered.
