As the long awaited sunshine broke through i decide it was about time i did some pottering about. i decided to go to Dunstable Downs which is in Bedfordshire. It is part of the Chilterns and has some beautiful views and woodland areas.
As you can see the view are lovely and the strange metal object is actually an environmentally friendly ventilation system for the visitor centre.
I particularly enjoyed the woodland area.
A better view from up here
I love trees and nature
looking through the fence i can see Chute wood.
Now just to open the gate
I found another beautiful tree to climb
look at this a natural bird bath
Another tree to sit in and take in the wonderful views
I need to move along
What’s this i have found?
Could it be a fairy door?
Knock , Knock, oh well, nobody is home.
Off into the woods, i do feel a bit like little red Riding Hood, but i don’t think there are any wolves in here.
After the long winter the vegetation is starting to spring up.
looks like the woodworms have been busy.
In the woods there are lots of things for children to play on , which have been made out of fallen trees.
What’s this O and X’s , i think i will try that.
This little seating area reminds me of The Three Bears story, i wonder if i can sit on this chair
Time i headed back i think
I hope you have enjoyed my visit to Dunstable Downs, but please remember if you are planning a visit in the near future that.
Thanks for looking……………..
Thank you for taking me on this wonderful walk through the Dunstable Downs. Little Beatrice is such a charmer and so perfectly attired!
Thanks Janet it was a lovely day out.
Thanks for this lovely trip in the countryside. I found that stand of large, old trees, with no underbrush, very interesting. Most woods I see are more densely grown and paths have to be manually cut to allow walking. I love Beatrice’s outfit; where did those overalls come from? Thanks again for ALL your wonderful posts!
hi Susan i am glad you enjoyed the adventure and the overalls or dungarees as we call them on this side of the pond are made by Sheila Mc Foery.
wow, what beautiful scenery! Looks like a fun place to explore!
next time you are over Marti i will have to show you it .
A wonderful post Theresa. Your girl looks fantastic with her bobbed cut and her sweater with overalls plus great wellies. The Dunstable Downs looks like a lovely place to visit and nice to see as things are hopefully returning to life. The trees are inspiring! Spring is the air! 😊 xxx
Really enjoyed the trip to The Dunstable Downs and loved your doll’s wellies. If you ever come across any more and post them for sale, I’d love a pair. Thanks for taking me along on your day trip.
Thanks Anne i will let you know
Hi Ginger glad you enjoyed the post. Beatrice outfit includes a sweater by Linda Simpson, Dungarees by Sheila Mc Foery and the wellie boots can be found on ebay.
I loved your photo story and ai adore Spring
Thank you Madeleine, i love nature and my favourite month is May.
Looks like Beatrice enjoyed her walk on the sunny Dunstable Downs, I’m glad to see she was well prepared for any muddy puddles along the way with her wellies and dungarees.
Thanks Dollmum you know how the kids love to play in mud and she thoroughly enjoyed it.
