Sasha’s Gather at Newbury

This weekend there was a gathering of Sasha friends new and old at the Chequers Hotel in Newbury and a great time was had by all. The event was hosted by Diana Scorer and her lovely daughter Lindsey. There were two crafting events led by Carrie Attwood and Pam Winter Turner, along with a quiz and a raffle.

We started the morning with registration and we were allocated our crafting supplies, which included a lovely knitted Beri and a gift of a little bear. There was also a dress a Sasha competition, sales tables and visiting dolls.

First of all Pam and Janice showed us how to make a Tot, using legs from another type of doll.

This little Tot belongs to Janice

adapting the legs to fit the Sasha baby

After the Tot demonstration Carrie put us to work making felt shoes.

Here are some photos from around the tables

There was the dress a Sasha competition , two categories, outfit made by entrant on the blue runner and outfit not made by entrant on the red runner.

The theme for the dress a Sasha competition was Downton past and present.

Then there were the visiting dolls.

I had setup a display as a small tribute to Susanna Lewis, and to give any of the attendees a chance to give studio doll Natalie a cuddle, look at her outfits and the Sasha doll books.

There was also the raffle table with lots of goodies.

A great time was had by all. I attended with my Granddaughter Elizabeth and we went for a walk around Newbury town, it was lovely and the sun was shining.

We found Paddington sitting on a bench, he was quite taken with Elizabeth, but not with me trying to get a bite of his marmalade sandwhich.

We were strolling back to the hotel when Elisabeth reminded me that we had left the twins on their own, ooh ooh. While the cats away………………………….

Thank goodness Carrie was able to capture them before they got into any real trouble.

Apologies for not taking any photos of the sales tables and a big thankyou to everyone who helped to make this day a success. There will be another Sasha event in September 2026, i will keep you posted.

Thanks for looking……………………………..
